Dave Alexander takes 5th place in APA Singles Championship
APA-leaguer Dave Alexander tied for 5th place in the APA National Singles 8-Ball Classic (blue tier) held in Las Vegas May 1-3, 2008. Dave plays on two Diamond Eight division teams and won the singles qualifier at Diamond Eight. After winning the qualifier, Dave was victorious in Utica, NY to advance to the National level. Dave also went to Vegas in August 2007, when his team earned the trip for the 8-Ball National Championship. Congratulations Dave!
Congrats to Tom Acciavetti, who also competed in the National Singles 8-Ball Classic tournament (purple tier) and Frank Rich and Natasha Singletary, who competed in the National Jack and Jill Championship. Great job! It is quite a feat just to get to play in these National events, so we are very proud of you! It is a great experience as well! Congrats!
Angela Skawinski edged out rival Audre Hartman on Sunday to claim victory in the APA of Albany’s First Annual Ladies 8-Ball Tournament. The tournament featured a field of 10 women, all poised for the challenge. Both Angela and Audre reversed their fortunes after first-round losses to meet in the finals.
Angela, a long-time Red Sox fan, used her new Red Sox-branded cue, while Audre was dressed in full Yankees apparel. The match went to the hill, mirroring the hill battle between the Red Sox and Yankees to be held later that night. The Red Sox ended up winning the series in Boston, just as Angela won the 2-2 split for the match and the tournament victory. Congrats to everyone for a great tournament!

7 Day Forecast
Over the past 15 years, the price of consumer products and services has skyrocketed. In 1993, a gallon of gas averaged $1.11, a postage stamp cost $0.29, and the average price for a new home was $147,700. My how things change! One thing that hasn’t changed since 1993 is the cost of your APA membership.
